BloomIQ Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BloomIQ may collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when you use the BloomIQ app, website, plant scan tools, garden features, reminders, subscription features, and related services. "BloomIQ," "we," "our," or "us" means the owner and operator of BloomIQ.

By using BloomIQ, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

1. Information You Provide

2. Information Collected Automatically

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

BloomIQ is designed for plant care. We do not intentionally request sensitive information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health records, biometric templates, or criminal history.

4. How We Use Information

5. Legal Bases Where Required

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, BloomIQ may process information because it is needed to provide the app, because you consented, because we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the service, or because we must comply with legal obligations.

6. Plant Photos and AI Results

Plant identification and disease diagnosis features may use automated tools or AI systems. Photos, scan data, and related context may be processed to generate results. These results are estimates, may be incomplete or incorrect, and should not be treated as professional safety, medical, veterinary, agricultural, or toxicity advice.

7. Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted providers that help us operate BloomIQ, such as cloud hosting, AI processing, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, notification delivery, subscription management, app stores, and payment processors.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

8. Service Providers

BloomIQ may use third-party services to host data, process images, analyze app performance, manage purchases, deliver notifications, and provide customer support. These providers are allowed to process information only for the purposes of supporting BloomIQ and are expected to protect information appropriately.

Plant identification and disease diagnosis are powered by Plant.id, a service operated by Kindwise s.r.o. When you scan a plant, the photo and related scan data are sent to Plant.id's servers for analysis. Plant.id's use of that data is governed by their own privacy policy and terms of service. BloomIQ does not store your scan images beyond what is necessary to complete the scan.

9. Subscriptions and Payments

If you start a trial or buy a Pro plan, payment information is handled by the App Store. BloomIQ may receive purchase status, product type, scan allowance, renewal status, cancellation status, and subscription identifiers, but not your full payment card details.

10. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Tools

BloomIQ may use local storage, cookies, software development kits, or similar tools to remember settings, count scans, support subscriptions, measure app performance, and improve the user experience. You may be able to limit some tools through device or browser settings, but some app features may not work properly if disabled.

11. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the app, maintain your garden and scan history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No app, network, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International Processing

Your information may be processed in the country where you live or in other countries where BloomIQ or its service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from place to place. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

14. Your Choices

15. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.

Residents of some U.S. states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. BloomIQ does not sell personal information.

California residents may request information about certain disclosures under applicable California privacy laws.

16. Children

BloomIQ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may update this Privacy Policy as BloomIQ changes. The "Last updated" date shows when the policy was most recently revised.
