By downloading or using Recall AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Legal Compliance — Your Responsibility
Recording laws vary widely by country, state, and jurisdiction. Many regions require the explicit consent of all parties to a conversation before it may be recorded. You are solely and entirely responsible for understanding and complying with the laws in every jurisdiction where you use this app.
Recall AI provides a consent confirmation step as a reminder tool — it does not constitute legal advice and does not guarantee that your use of the app is lawful in your jurisdiction.
Permitted Use
Recall AI may only be used for lawful recording of conversations where you have obtained proper, informed consent from all participants. You may not use the app to:
- Record conversations without the knowledge or consent of all parties, where required by law
- Surveil, harass, stalk, or monitor any individual
- Record conversations for unlawful purposes
- Violate any applicable privacy, wiretapping, or eavesdropping laws
Your Responsibilities
- Obtain explicit, informed consent from all participants before every recording
- Use recordings only for lawful, ethical purposes
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your recorded files
- Delete recordings when they are no longer needed
Subscriptions & Billing
Recall AI offers optional Pro subscriptions billed through your Apple ID via the App Store:
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Apple ID Settings › Subscriptions
- Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription
Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding within Recall AI are owned by or licensed to Black Mirror Lab. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on any part of the app without our express written permission.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Recall AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Transcripts will be accurate or complete
- The app will be compatible with all devices or iOS versions
Speech recognition accuracy varies based on environment, microphone quality, language, and device model.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Black Mirror Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Legal consequences arising from unlawful recording
- Loss of data or recordings
- Damages resulting from inaccurate transcripts
- Any other damages arising from your use or inability to use the app
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date below. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Black Mirror Lab is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.
